Named after the famed South Australian landscape artist, Sir Hans Heysen, the Heysen Trail incorporates a large number of spectacular and beautiful areas of the state.
The popular Heysen Trail Guidebooks have been replaced with a new map series of 8 individual, folded maps printed on a waterproof material to help protect them when being used in the field.
Each map in the series consists of:
- Map at 1:50 000 scale (1cm = 500m)
- Double sided, water resistant paper
- Elevation profiles with km markers and crossing point names
- Loop trails in national parks
- Location of supplies & facilities
- Important contact details
- Interesting facts along the Trail
- Accommodation and campsites
- Advice on walking and safety
